Is Training Service Dogs a Potential PTSD Therapy?

Bethesda, MD (HDSIAC) — Approximately 7-8% of Americans are affected by post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) at some point in their lifetimes. Military personnel exposed to trauma are at a particularly high risk for developing PTSD; out of Afghanistan/Iraq Veterans alone, about 11-20% of these Veterans have PTSD in any given year*.
